What does our breakfast include?
Enjoy a hearty traditional breakfast with local products!
At the Hotel Karthea, we give particular emphasis in our breakfast and we offer a rich traditional Greek breakfast with homemade treats. The products we use are pure, fresh, supplied by local Kea producers.
At breakfast you can enjoy traditional savory pies, various rustic rusks, olives, ham products and different kinds of Greek cheeses, homemade desserts (such as a Flora cake with jam from our own production of figs, homemade cake, apple pie, etc.), fresh local vegetables and fruits (tomato, cucumber, watermelon, melon, peach during summer time), eggs, homemade jams, Greek yogurt and other treats. You can also enjoy different kinds of juices (orange juice, lemonade) and beverages according to your wishes (coffee, tea, milk).
Our breakfast buffet is served in the dining room or on our patio overlooking the Korissia harbor. If desired, breakfast can be served in your room.

Lemon mousse with strawberry jam
1 tablespoon gelatin powder
3 tablespoons of water
3 eggs
1 cup of sugar
zest of 3 lemon juice
2 cups whipping cream
3 tablespoons of strawberry jam
2 tablespoons of brandy
Soften the gelatin in water for 5 minutes. Add the lemon juice and lemon zest. In a bowl beat the egg yolks with half the sugar and add the gelatin mixture. In another bowl beat the egg whites meringue and add the remaining sugar. Whisk the egg yolks with the cream and add the meringue. Empty the mixture in a bowl and refrigerate for 4 hours. Spread a thin layer of jam on the surface diluted with brandy.
Quick Apple Pie
1 Package (250gr.) margarine,
1 cup of sugar,
4 eggs,
2 cups of flour,
2 tablespoons of baking powder,
Vanilla,
2 Apples
Beat the margarine and sugar; add the eggs and flour mixed with baking powder and vanilla. Pour into a buttered baking dish of 30cm. Peel and cut into fine slices the apples and stick them into the dough. Bake the pie at 190 degrees for 40 minutes.
